Villa Ambi is a 65 m² residence designed for two architecture students, located along the Venice Canals in California. Developed within a compact footprint, the project explores how architecture can negotiate the residents' contrasting routines, needs and ways of living while creating a cohesive shared home.

The centerpiece counter and the beds are furniture pieces we designed that best embody this contrast within the concept. This is expressed through the choice of material (concrete versus plywood) and the way each piece is set within the space (social versus private).
